Our Quest for a New Home:
There's a lot of excitement in the air these days... all because of a dream that lives in our hearts. The vision we spoke into existence 2 years ago is gaining momentum as we are actively looking for a new home for MCC. Soon we will be able not only to have worship, but a place of fellowship as well. A place we can count on to spend time with each other, getting to know each other better as we share our lives in a warm and loving setting we can call "home".
While this new "home" might be a temporary one as we set our sights on building our permanent space - we can still be filled with hope and excitement as we move forward - because we are indeed walking in the light of our new future.
What's New?
Our very own Tom Toigo has been heading up the effort to find us a new space.
Rev. Marilyn, The Board of Directors and Staff have been reviewing the list of possible locations. There are quite a few that look interesting and the next step is to visit the sites. Please check back on the News Blog for updates! More info to come.
Building Dreams...
When I am day dreaming... thinking of new ideas, new music etc., sometimes an idea can pop in my head that is SO big it's scary. At first I think, "that's interesting..." and shrug it off... but then, try as I might, I just can't let it go. I can feel the universe telling me to RUN with it! At that point, there's no use in fighting it and at this point in my life, I have learned to willingly surrender with JOY. Believe me... there's no use arguing when the Spirit calls you :) This is how MCF began. An idea that is SO big it can take your breath away... make your spirit soar, bring a community so diverse yet with so much in common come together... I know in my heart that this endeavor has been taken over by the angels, the universe and YOU. Thank God!
Great ideas can only come alive when a group of people are inspired to make it come alive. That line from the movie "Field of Dreams" always comes to mind - "If you build it they will come...". While we are not actually in our awaited physical space yet, we ARE our dream as long as we speak it into existence; as long as we share it with our families, our friends and the entire community.
If you want to see MCF right now, all you have to do is to close your eyes and IMAGINE. If you can imagine it, it can be done.
Gifts and Flags!
Talking about "If you build it they will come..." Here's something - If you want to be absolutely inspired just look in the closet (just LOOK in it... don't get in it!!). Well... more specifically, Francesca Bonsignori's (fondly known as "Frankie") closet. Frankie has been on a MISSION. She is carrying a torch, marching towards the front doors of MCF and nobody and nothing is going to stop her.
For at least 1 year now, Frankie has fervently, with every part of her body and soul, been building MCF. I don't know if she and Jane have any room to move at home with all the beautiful flags Frankie has been collecting from all around the country. But I know that God is with them - working through them. Each flag Frankie has collected is an expression of the meaning of The Metropolitan Community of Faith. There are flags of the Cross, Star of David, many expressions of faith, Pride Rainbows, support for people living with HIV/AIDS, and simply stated... flags and flags of LOVE. Thank you Frankie. And thanks to both Frankie and Jane for collecting items to sell on the MCF website to raise money for our building fund. Your dream IS coming true. We love you!

MCS: The Metropolitan Community Synagogue
Excitement for MCS is alive and well while we patiently await a new space. Our Jewish brothers and sisters are looking forward to gathering in a space with MCC and our beautiful diverse community. More info will come as news develops.
